Renovating a bathroom is a terrific way to improve its aesthetic quality and functionality. While the bathtub and sink fixtures receive the greatest amount of attention, many people forget about the window settings and its accessories until the very end. The right type of window blinds can have a substantial effect on the entire bathroom and should be part of any plan up front. Here are some reasons why I think installing faux wood venetian blinds for the bathroom are a great idea whenever you are looking to renovate that space.
Aesthetics:
One of the most popular designs for home interiors is having wood or laminate floors. The attraction to wood is in large part due to the growing popularity of rustic and organic designs. Unfortunately, the pastels and geometric designs of the past which we thought were so modern are being discarded in favor of more natural and environmentally friendly interior. This wooden aesthetic is appearing in bathrooms as well, from the home just down the street to those richly decorated neighborhoods that you think you only see in a magazine. In order to continue that rustic design in a bathroom, it is important to purchase venetian blinds that are either made of wood or bear a close resemblance to wood, and this is where the faux comes in perfectly.
Privacy:
Faux wood blinds in a bathroom are actually quite good for those who enjoy privacy. After all, the activities done in a bathroom are usually private in nature and do not warrant the gaze of outside observers. I don’t want anybody peeking in on me in there that’s for sure. Venetian blinds are terrific for this because they can be closed or opened with a few simple flicks or turns of a toggle or pull of a chord. Then you can enjoy the privacy that you need while in the bathroom and can then flick the blind right back open when you are finished to let in some awesome sunshine or fresh air.
Safety:
With the number of break-ins that can occur in urban places, let’s face it, that’s where most of them happen, it’s best to outfit your home with as many safety features as possible. Faux wood venetian blinds can contribute greatly to a home’s safety because when closed they block the view of anybody trying to look in from the outside. If you can’t see in, a potential robber will not be able to scope out its belongings or see if someone is home before they try. This comes in really handy in the bathroom since most of them are already located in an out the way place that may actually make it easier to gain entrance through the window and not be spotted. The material that makes up faux wood blinds is actually very thick in nature, ie. you can’t see through it. But it works even better when the blinds are shut because you won’t be able to see through the slats at all. These blinds can help keep your home and everything in it safer from prying eyes.
Functionality:
Bathrooms are a place where you have a great deal of moisture to worry about. After showers and baths, a large amount of this humidity usually lingers around and really doesn’t have a place to escape. This moisture can seep into and on virtually everything and moisture over time can ruin just about anything. It is therefore important to either build a bathroom with water-resistant materials in mind or have those things that can be damaged by moisture treated with a moisture-resistant substance. Faux wood mini blinds are great for protection from moisture because they are not actually made out of wood. They are normally constructed out of synthetic materials that are meant to block out moisture and therefore won’t warp or crack overtime. These blinds are a great deal more functional than cloth-based or wood blinds because cloth ones will actually absorb water and wood ones can become warped or weighed down.
Faux wood venetian blinds for the bathroom are therefore a terrific addition to any modern home. They are functional, practical, and aesthetically pleasing. They also allow a person to maintain a sense of privacy and safety and can be ordered online or found at most any bathroom store or home improvement store.
