If you have grown tired of trying to find the right curtains to hang in your bathroom that perfectly match your color scheme and decor, wooden venetian blinds may be the best solution for you. The horizontal slats are thick and versatile enough to be rotated as much or as little as you want to gain privacy or to let the sun spill in from outside. Lift cords also allow you to raise the wood venetian blinds, completely exposing the full window and letting in as much light as possible.
The finishes on wooden venetian blinds can come in rich mahogany, chestnut, walnut or oak. Deep reds and greens in a bathroom go well with mahogany woods. Rich wood colors look best in large bathrooms. Light ash or oak and beech wood look best in smaller bathrooms.
Although the wood finishes that come with a wood venetian blind are gorgeous and give you a range of opportunity to match existing window frames, crown molding, vanity stain and cabinetry, you are not restricted to those finishes as a final look for a window treatment.
Wooden venetian blinds can be made of wood and painted or have fabric mounted on them with patterns and colors that match shower curtains, hand towel ensembles, hung artwork or rugs and laminate flooring.
You can also choose white venetian blinds that can disappear into the color of the walls until you open the window to let in light. This white wood effect gives your bathroom more of a spa feel than regular wood finishes, which make the room feel like more tropical, island fare.
If you love the idea of PVC blinds as a material choice but still want the look of wood, faux wood venetian blinds give you the best of both worlds. The PVC material is desirable for when the bathroom area becomes humid after baths and showers. Woods have the tendency to sometimes swell.
There are two concerns most buyers of wooden blinds have about the durability of the wood as a sole window treatment. The first concern is about denting and scratching. No material is completely invincible, but wooden venetian blinds are treated with a special coating to minimize scratching.
This finish also helps to safeguard against warping when the wood slats get either too hot or too moist, and it protects the blinds from fading and other damage caused by the sun. One of the latest market developments is a special coating that stops dust from collecting on the slats. This is a plus for maintenance and cuts down on the dusting.
The other concern for people who want to own wooden venetian blinds is the size of the slats. Many promo pictures show wooden slats that are extremely large and look like a southern plantation style window treatment. You can select mini blinds that are much smaller to suite your tastes, however.
For many homeowners, functionality comes before form when choosing wooden venetian blinds. With all the choices on the current market, however, it is quite possible that homeowner no longer has to choose. There are enough design options to give an equal share of both.

I have fix a white wood venetian blind (Ikea Lindmon range) at my bathroom near the shower area, at such constant splash of water onto the blind will happen. we found out some sourish wood smell after we install this blind for 2-3 weeks. Do we need to change to those steel type material instead of using the wooden type blind in bathroom?
We’ve just installed some of these in our bathroom, but the window is not by the tub or shower. They look great!
